tomte dolls brings home holiday spirit
Legend has it, these mythical creatures from Scandanavian stories were believeed to take care of the home and protect children from misfortune as night when the house folk were asleep. During the day, I’ve found they take on personalities of their own… so much in fact, I’ve found them in odd places where I know I didn’t leave them…
… like near the keys by my front door, waiting for my return:Or hiding in little precarious spots waiting to jump out and smile.Sometimes the lovebirds just want to savor peace and hold hands.I found these little tomtes happy on the Verilux full-spectrum ‘happy light’ getting their tan on… and another big gal guarding the guest room door where Santa’s elves storing gifts for family.Willy wasn’t sure if this little one was waiting for Santa at the fireplace :They might meet you at the front door, or explore the holiday dishes on display… or hang in the rafters or pop out on the stairs.Sometimes they are mischievous and sneak into Indesign and swap out an image for one in their own likeness. Or sit on top of the toilet or Grandma’s heirloom glass. These guys made it into the fridge and cutlery drawer, in a plant and one was waiting near the Christmas tree. But this year, I new we’d be getting a lot of special holiday cards, so I stopped by Iverson’s Imports and picked up a pair of soldiers tasked to guard special holiday cards.Hard at work!
