Unfocused

Unfocused. All too often we hear that word and think negative. However, I think you’ll agree it is far better to take a fuzzy photo of a sharp idea than a sharp photo of a fuzzy idea.

Sometimes we need to relinquish focus, and let our creative tools help us to see things in a new way, a way our eyes cannot see.

Ever try and take a picture of a single falling snowflake? Just one. Almost impossible, right?

Try and unfocus and see what happens.

I gave myself 60-minutes to complete a photo project of blurry doors in Winter Park with the simple notion that each photo is shot in manual unfocused, at f/1.4.

Chase Jarvis is doing some serious motivation with his “Create. Sustain. Share” paradigm. Brilliant, if you ask me, especially for those photographers facing borderline burnout.
