Kari & Byron {Minneapolis Commons Hotel Wedding Photos}
Kari and Byron’s were married at The Commons Hotel in Minneapolis, located on the campus of the University of Minnesota.
Kari and Byron worked hard to plan their celebration of love with the best party of their lives. It showed!
I’ve know Byron for years and wedding photography was very important to him. We see each other twice a week at Lifetime Fitness and he always brings a smile to my face. I enjoyed getting to know Byron and Kari over the course of their wedding planning and am giddy I was able to see them begin a life together. If their wedding is any indication, they have a ton of fun and happiness in store for the future!
For the bride, seeing Byron at the First Look was among her favorite parts of the day. “Gosh, how handsome he looked. Just being with him in the moment was fantastic,” said Kari. She loved the candid humor exchanged during the ceremony, which started when she walked in the room and The Best Dog, Maggie, whimpered with excitement. The room chuckled. “Swiping right brought us here,” Byron jested. “It continued with our banter back and forth, embracing the emotion of the vow exchange in front of loved ones.”
For Byron, among his favorite highlights included the First Look, his brother’s speech, and the words penned by his best man. Yet, I know he will never forget the humor when he opened the piece of paper with his vows, she responded, “Wow, that’s long!”In Byron’s words, was “so perfect and funny, and SO us.” When Kari’s father placed the bride and groom’s hands together in a ceremonial gesture, Byron beams, “That moment meant so so much to me!” Surely, a sentiment he will cherish when he’s 75!
Said Kari, “It was amazing and everything I ever could have imagined it would be. I couldn’t have been more happy with the most important part of our lives truly being us, tears, laughter… all of it!”
During the reception, Byron sat close to Kari near their Celebrate sign, and took a big sigh. Kari said, “He looked so happy and so content. I sat down next to him, told him I loved him, and thanked him for everything.”
“We throw a pretty amazing party,” he proclaimed. Byron fist bumped, and she respond with a high five.
At the end of the night, the song ‘I Will Wait’ by Mumford and Sons brought out even MORE emotions. “I thought I had felt everything that day until then. That dance made me feel as if we were in a movie, a movie that we waited for years to show everyone our story,” Kari said. “I will NEVER forget it!”
Matt Steaffens did a wonderful job serving as my second photographer at this Minneapolis Commons Hotel! We celebrated at the end of our night that this was the 30th wedding we photographed together!
