The rain didn’t keep the love from shining bright during Jaclyn and Colin’s engagement photo session in Minneapolis.

The surprise trip to Seattle was set and he couldn’t wait to pop the question. The rain wouldn’t hold back Colin’s magical plan of a hike, dinner atop the Space Needle paired with Sunday Night Football… ingredients for her perfect weekend. Before he could pop the question, he asked Jaclyn’s 93-year-old grandma for her blessing.

“Of course,” she replied. “If she says ‘No,’ I’ll take you.”

When did she know know he was The One?

After their first date.

“It was just a feeling I had. Our conversation was so natural and comfortable,” Jaclyn blushes. “Watching how he interacts with my nieces and how kind he is to my family and his family, really sealed the deal for me,” she says.

“I love spending so much time with her and I always look forward to coming home and seeing her,” says Colin. Thinking back to his favorite memories from his engagement proposal, Colin loved being in Seattle to pop the question, rain and all. That, and the peace of mind knowing when “She said, ‘Yes,’ I would get to marry my best friend.”

Wedding Plans

Jaclyn can’t wait to marry the love of her life on her favorite holiday, St Patrick’s Day, and celebrating with family and friends. Enjoying cocktail hour with guests in the dome at the Millennium Hotel wedding reception ranks among the highlights for their wedding day.

Beer, Minneapolis, and Rain

Their engagement photo session included two of their favorite things: beer and Minneapolis.

Yet, the element we couldn’t control: the weather. What we could control: our attitude.

“Although the rain was a bit of a disappointment at first, the weather and setting reminded us exactly of Colin’s proposal while on a hike on a rainy Seattle day,” Jaclyn says.

Before the engagement session, she admits she was pretty nervous. After the shoot she wrote back, “You made it so easy and natural I didn’t even feel like I was taking pictures. We felt so comfortable, and shooting in all the different locations made for a very fun shoot.”

The feeling is mutual, might I add 🙂
