This MN Transplant is now an MN Original! I’m proud to live in Minnesota; is one great state to live as a working artist, too!
Let me count the reasons: The art community features opportunities many states would dream for including world-class The Walker, MIA, Guthrie Theater, and the Weisman Art Museum; local art events like Art-A-Whirl, Edina Art Fair, and the Uptown Art Fair. MnArtists.org is THE panorama in the arts community. The MN State Fair features friendly arts competition. Local galleries like Gallery 360 in my neighborhood allows for artists and neighbors to connect… I’ve met new art friends like Stuart Klipper, Luke Erickson, and Louise Harris just in the neighborhood! And of course, Minnesota is such a great place to be an artist when funding opportunities help make things happen… especially like the Minnesota State Arts Board Artist Initiative Grant and the Jerome Fellowship for Emerging Artists.
Need one more reason to love the MN art scene?
How about shows like Artist Day Jobs as part of MN Original on Twin Cities PBS that you can stream for free!
Pinch me! I’m honored to be featured in Season 2, Episode 1:

Because prints matter more than pixels, here are the first batch of prints from my project, The Unchosen Ones:
The support of this project made possible by the Minnesota State Arts Board Artist Initiative Grant. Special thanks to Scott Stebner for helping me understand the agricultural photo world, Matt Steaffens for his patient listening ear, Stuart Klipper and Kathleen Richert for their trusted guidance, Penn Barnes for the additional footage, and my wife and family for their loving support.
