Caroline & Mario {Boston Engagement Shoot}
Caroline and Mario are my kind of people! Super-smart, humble, and easy to be around… they made me feel like they’ve known me for years and treated me like royalty. Caroline brought along her an heirloom umbrella and Mario brought his guitar to serenade. We started off at M.I.T after dark which proved to be a creative challenge (for the record, I’m not sure I’ve ever seen and entire engagement session photographed in the dark). Good thing we had Harvard on the mind!
We found an amazing steam for added visual impact, although they didn’t need the steam to keep warm! I hope you enjoy the images!
Geek note: I always travel with my lighting so I don’t have to rely on sun… photographer literally means “writing with light.” The added confidence allows me to create consistently creative work, images you might see graze a cover of a high end fashion magazine (it’s one source of inspiration for me). This represented the first engagement session I shot with the amazing PhaseOne IQ 260 medium format digital system.
Special thanks to my friend Matt Steaffens for joining me on this shoot. He never fails to make me laugh, and clients love him too! He also provides wonderful behind the scenes perspectives for lighting explanations to teach concepts for later workshops (I love to teach). He also serves as a wonderful my voice activated lightstand. Thanks, Matt!
Then we headed to the AH-mazing foodie hangouts, Craigie on Main, which apparantly is listed as a “Top 10 First Date Bars in US” and ““One of 14 Most Influential Restaurants in the US.” I will be returning there! And if you have ever seen the movie, Chef!, the open kitchen showcases even more passion for the art of cooking!
Then we headed back to their place near the Paramount in Boston where Maurio poured us a glass of the 2007 Groth Reserve Cab. Wowza! A perfect way to wrap a Boston engagement session!
