Casey & Jason {Larchmont Yacht Club Wedding}
I met Casey and her Mom at one of the best “under the radar” lunches in Chelsea: at Google. Her workspace makes me think quadratic equations and Legos would make beautiful babies. Eek! That’s how excited I was to serve as their wedding photographer at Larchmont Yacht Club.
A surprise Rolls Royce, 1999 Dom Perignon, a police car, and umbrellas to offer were among the gifts shared at Casey & Jason’s Larchmont Yacht Club wedding last Saturday just outside NYC. 1 Woodbine Ave, you make good memories!
The grace of company in friends and family, a reception boat limo, and the calm mist of rain my Grandmother would call “Good For Your Complexion,” added deep sentimental ties to Larchmont, NY on September 13, 2014. The mother-of-the bride (Mary Gail) and I share several things in common: we both are not scared of the number 13, we love beauty showcased in photographs, and we like John Wall (coordinator extraordinaire). Place remains sentimental for Casey’s Mom and Dad (John), as they wed at Larchmont about three decades ago (the first in the Pandemonium, she tells me). TRADITION!
Casey & Jason were perfect wedding clients: they trusted me to do what I love: photograph creative portraits, real moments, and important moments. Thank you! And they didn’t let the rain bog down their attitude, after all of all the things in life we choose, our attitude remains most important. And Jason made an exception umbrella model, almost as cute as Casey looked cute in her Hunter boots! He carried across the Larchmont Threshold in front of hundreds, including a mini-reunion of Boston College alumni… kudos!
A few of my favorite moments of the day included adorable ring bearers/ flower girls, emotional First Looks with the bride’s parents in the Larchmont library, and a traditional Catholic ceremony at Saint Augustine‘s with Rev. Bruce Orsborn from California. I got my enthusiasm on for the suave Holdych-Krueger-Barry-Hickey family photos on the LYC lawn with the water backdrop, had several parents of former clients in the house (big sweaty hugs), and Ariel Music and Events kept guests on their feet and I enjoyed working with videographer Steve Kang. And of all the mechanically-challenged home-grown-tomatoe-lovin’ Italinan/Tuscan photographers who know how to develop film with coffee, Giovanni Savino merits a blue ribbon for a role never to be replaced!
