Weisman Art Museum Wedding {Monica & Mark}

Something different, a short distance from traditional; Monica and Mark envisioned their wedding at the Weisman Art Museum in Minneapolis. When Mark first contacted me in January (thanks to The Google) we hit if off! I applauded him immediately for helping to plan the wedding. Monica had serious patience and creativity running through her hands: she created her own paper bridal bouquet that will never wilt. Woa. Patience and the willingness to help are among the super powers they exercise as a couple. It was a joy seeing their day unfold between two best friends.

I love photographing couples who are looking for something creatively different. The chance to be in the presence of a Georgia O’Keefe painting while Andy Warhol hangs around the corner = a secret dream come true for me. And to incorporate the artwork at the Weisman Museum, legally, into photographs breaks through some serious red tape. Yes! Drawing on inspiration from contemporary art makes me giddy. Blending it with wedding photography shapes one awesome creative environment!

The architecture of the Weisman informs and inspires. It is amazing, unique, and beautiful: the perfect metaphor for Mark and Monica. Thank you for trusting me with your wedding photos!
