Tiffany & Joe {Sunset Ranch Wedding in Oahu, Hawaii}

Of all the roads to choose from in life, Tiffany and Joe chose their route landmarked by Pupukea Rd, an island road, volcanic in nature, steeped in curves, yet refined and beautiful. A road that sees lots of rain and rainbows. A road off the beaten path. A place perfect for their inspired Hawaii wedding.

I’ve never met a Hawaiian road name I didn’t like. The more I visit, the more familiar, friendly they become. The Pali Hwy is awe-inspiring; it took me from Denver to Minneapolis, metaphorically. The Likelike Hwy (which you’d better really like) makes me smile. The $80 million per mile ride on the H-3 Hwy trumphs the Stairway to Heaven.

The Kamehameha Hwy, besides fun to say, brought me to meet Tiffany and Joe at their rehearsal dinner near the sand at Ola at Turtle Bay. Roads in Hawaii are important, and this one was paved by my brother, Sean.

Near the end of Pupukea Rd in Haleiwa stands Sunset Ranch. It’s a conservation easement, a farm, a nursery, and a stone’s throw from Matsumoto’s Shave Ice, and is also one of Hawaii’s finest wedding venues. It’s the special place where Joe and Tiffany shared love, amazing food, scenery, stories, and quality time with guests. The O’ahu sunset, a ranch with a breezy ocean view, and Hawaiian native flora and fauna made the downpours, well, forgettable.

I had a great time photographing this wedding experience and came away feeling the warmth, kindness, and the love Tiffany and Joe shared with their guests. Thank you both for making me apart of your wedding experience and treating me like a guest! It’s hard to believe all these amazing memories happened just 6 days ago!

The wedding vendors on the top of Pupukea Rd on Oahu’s North Shore in Hawaii were a gem to work with!

As an explorer, I get lost, yet arrive on time thanks to my good friend Matt Steaffens who flew out with me and provided turn-by-turn directions on the road. He’s also a stellar assistant and second shooter and I love having him along to catch varied moments and perspectives!

Thank you to Christa, Lance, and Carina and their wonderful staff who helped make Sunset Ranch one of the best wedding venues in Oahu, Hawaii. I enjoyed seeing Gemina Chong from Faith & Beauty again along with her talent at makeup & hair.

In addition, officiant Jimmy Haufman shared the softer side of Hawaiian culture tradition as it relates to love. Entertainment and music by Manoa DNA kept the energy up while not skipping a note. Yummy catering by Chef Elmer Guzman’s Island Cuisine (the spinach salad with bacon I could live on) and Gourmet Events Hawaii (Friendly times, good times!). Outfitted by Pacific Party Rentals who make it “no worries” when it rains on the big day (we worked with them at our wedding!).
