Monica & Mark {Minneapolis Engagement Photos}
Bug spray. A circus dog. Surprise peonies. Such simple things: sentiments of thought and love that make life matter.
These little things not only made perfect props for Mark and Monica’s engagement shoot in Minneapolis, they also make us stop, think and wonder how fleeting moments can become the sweetest parts of our day. Who would have thought packing mosquito spray would be a sign of love? Or a peony plant would be considered a weed (at first!)? Or that doggy circus tricks could take the edge off the day, makes us feel special, and fill our hearts with joy?
I thank Monica and Mark for reminding me of these three special things:
1. Packing bug spray is another way to say “I love you.” Minneapolis mosquitos find Monica irresistible! Yet Mark takes care of her with acts of service, ensuring the bug spray is packed, a task many guys would forget. Heart melt.
2. It’s okay to spoil the dog. Engagement sessions are another reason slow down and spend an extra bit of time with a four-legged loved one… after all, most dog lovers have plenty of photos of their four-legged loved one. Yet very little photos are they in the picture. Which is why I encourage my pet-lovin’ clients to bring the entire family along for the engagement session. There’s nothing like comic relief that dogs offer.
3. Nature’s curve ball can lead to a home run! When Monica and Mark purchase their new home last winter, they were not sure what Spring would bring. Turns out, that backyard ‘weed’ would become a prized floral favorite in many bridal bouquets- which feature an intoxicating aroma and delicate beauty. Good things in life, often which come as a surprise and cost nothing, can make life sweeter.
Monica and Mark found their perfect slice of heaven they call home in Minnesota; despite the mosquitos, it served as the perfect location to kick off their engagement session!
Meet Bemidji, the perfect companion that would make any circus dog jealous:
Bemidji had no problem being the center of attention for our shoot, even though we tried not to pay any attention to him.
Bemidji couldn’t stand a moment of separation from Monica and Mark. Paws on glass couldn’t be cuter! What a ham!
Near Cedar Lake in St. Louis Park, MN we found a perfect engagement shoot location:
Mark is such a thoughtful guy when it comes to taking care of Monica- actions speak louder than words. And this is love with acts of service:
My Impossible Dream concept has forced me to think differently and create a unique photographs. I’m proud to share. M.C. Escher inspired this image:
