Ryan & Temple {A Surprise Engagement Proposal}
I’ve know Ryan for years and when he told me of his intentions to propose to Temple months ago, I was giddy for them both. You might remember them from this 2011 portrait session in Boulder.
As part of a little surprise with months of planning, Ryan found the right engagement ring for Temple, spoke with her parents, picked a special place, set a date, then let the creative energy do the rest before dropping to one knee. I flew out from Minneapolis to Denver for what was to be ‘just’ a concert in a coffee shop in Longmont, surrounded by room packed with friends unknowing about what was to happen at the end of the show.
Ryan kept it simple, but meaningful, as he shared a his feelings toward Temple and their journey together with their friends. The raw emotion in the room was unlike anything I’ve experienced, especially considering most of my engagement session shoots are after the actual proposal as part of the wedding planning process.
This was a first for me and I loved each moment. Congratulations to Ryan and Temple!
We met up the next day in Boulder, Colorado for a hike. I brought along my camera to create a few portraits of them in love surrounded by the rugged Colorado scenery.
Congratulations to Ryan and Temple on long road travelled to arrive at an amazing journey ahead!
