Emma & Adam {Boston Lifestyle Shoot}

Sketching out in my head plans for Emma & Adam’s engagement photography shoot, I thought to myself: “If Travel & Leisure magazine went on a date with People magazine in Boston, what would the shoot look like?” The images would have to make me proud if they glossed the pages of a magazine! What ingredients would I bring to the table?

First up, the big lights and gear I’d lug to Burning Man would stay packed, offering my visual senses lots of room to play. Secondly, the hybrid photo genre would mix lifestyle photography, with street reportage, feeling light and limber. Next, the perfect engagement session would be unconcerned about the perfect outfit, the perfect light, the perfect location, or perfect complexion. It would be 100% real. Like a leisure stroll you’d might take on Sunday in Boston’s South End after morning coffee, slightly tired from the night before. Perhaps we’d walk past the Lenox Hotel filled with happy memories. With late fall sun enough to leave behind a jacket, we’d bring along the dog, head to a Formaggio Kitchen to choose artisan cheese needed for a Lebanese family recipe, then walk home talking with new friends. Just living in the moment, exploring, leaving all the heavy stuff behind.
