Lenox Hotel Wedding {Danielle & Fernando}

On the morning of her wedding, I ask Danielle what she anticipated most. “The ceremony,” she said. “It’s going to be amazing… Fr John Unni is awesome! After all, he was the reason they chose to get married in Boston.”

Danielle and Fernando booked me almost two years ago for their wedding in Canada, but switched plans to accommodate Fr. John’s schedual. Planning their marriage trumped wedding planning.

“But RJ, you came next,” Danielle blushed. Photography was very important to Danielle and Fernando, an distinguishing quality I see in my favorite clients. We were invited to their rehearsal dinner where heavy rain didn’t damper spirits, yet cleared the skies for the wedding day. And I’ll never forget walking Fernando to the ceremony, treating him to a Starbucks along the way. #qualitytime

This was my first wedding at the Lenox Hotel in Boston, featuring inspiring decor, service, and an intimate, formal reception setting. To honor Danielle’s Danish heritage, I created an iconic portrait hinting at a Rembrandt we saw at the Museum of Fine Arts the day before… paying homage to Van Eyck and Vermeer’s light. After all, this isn’t the first time I’ve nicked someone’s light. In addition, we created an iconic bridal party shot infused with editorial flair, ending the night with rooftop portraits (with Fr. John, of course) and enjoying afterparty toasts in the bridal suite along with close friends.

Working hard to over-deliver, I surprised the wedding couple with a generous wedding gift and flew in a second photographer to assist. Big thanks to Matt Steaffens for his help (there’ll be big red bow next time).
